Today is National Have Fun at Work Day. One of the ways we celebrated was to have a Dress Like Mr. Deblois competition. All the staff and students who participated looked great! It has been a lot of fun being one of many Mr. Deblois today!

Starting Monday, January 31st, there will be some slight changes to Mr. Cote's bus run in the morning and afternoon. This will affect student who live on Wiscasset Rd, Pittston Rd and Thayer Rd. This does not affect anyone on the Townhouse Road part of his runs. Please be on the look out for an email and/or phone call by mid day on Friday with your student's new pick up/ drop off times. If you have any questions, please call the school during normal business hours.

Congratulations to our head cook, Miss Vicki, for being one of a select number of finalists for Maine's RISE Award ( she was one of 11 chosen out of 80 some odd nominations)
The Recognizing Inspiring School Employees (RISE) Award honors and promotes the excellence exhibited by classified school employees who provide exemplary service to students in pre-kindergarten through high school.
The state chose 2 other nominees of the top award, but Vicki is #1 in our books! Thank you Miss Vicki for all your hard work not only for our school but for the whole RSU!

Good Afternoon,
With many of our inductees being sidelined with positive COVID tests, we have decided to postpone the NJHS Induction Ceremony scheduled for tomorrow evening. We will reassess our circumstances over the coming few days and determine a new date for the event.
Thanks and if you have any questions please contact either Karen McCormick (NJHS Advisor) at kmccormick@svrsu.org or me.

"At Whitefield Elementary School We Have PRIDE INSIDE"

All schools in RSU 12 will have a two-hour delay this morning, Tuesday, January 25th due to the snow.

Good news! At the last minute we were able to secure an other bus driver. We are back on a four bus run. Buses will run with their normal drop off times this afternoon.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will need to have a three bus run this afternoon, January 24th. Drop off times may very from normal. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. As always with three bus runs we encourage those who can, to pick up their children at school for our 2:20pm dismissal time.

WHITEFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL has decided to hold a Read-a-thon this year!
Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
Our Read-a-thon starts Monday February 14, 2022.
About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/VUAIsA/1 and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates. We have amazing prizes available for participation and number of minutes read!
Thanks so much,
WHITEFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA

FYI for 7th and 8th grade girl's basketball players:
The Erskine Academy Varsity Girls’ Basketball team invites all local 7th/8th grade girls’ basketball players to join them for a true game day experience on Saturday, January 22nd, from 11:30-3:00 when they take on Nokomis. This is a free event for players and coaches (please wear your team apparel).
Players are welcome to sit in a special VIP section where they will meet current players and the coach. RSU 12 schools are closed today, Friday, January 7th because of the predicted snow today.

All afterschool activities in RSU 12 are cancelled this afternoon due to the icy roads.

A ring was found on the stage in the gym early this morning. We assume it was left from basketball practice/ games held here over vacation. If you or someone you know are missing a ring after being in our gym, please call the school with a description to claim it.
