Please call the school or email Amy Perkins at aperkins@svrsu.org if your child's daycare arrangements have changed since last year. We will be working on this years bus routes. This is especially important for those effected by Kiddie Korner Daycare closing.
Please note that we are still working to see if we can partner with the Boys and Girls Club for before and after school care at Whitefield School.

We are hiring for a part time night custodian.

Looks like everyone is waiting for school to start back up. Even this guinea hen wanted to check things out. She has been hanging around all day peeking in the front door of the school.

If you or someone you know has a child eligible to to apply for our prek program, there are still slots available. Please contact the school for an application. Please get them in as soon as possible as we have started the enrollment process.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 14th is voting day. The RSU 12 School Budget is on the ballot. Please remember to vote!

This is a reminder to all parents who had students in Pre-K last year. If they will be attending kindergarten at Whitefield Elementary School in the fall, we will need to have the kindergarten registration packet back by August 14th. This packet was delivered to you by Miss Jen. The entire packet must be filled out. The residency form is required and needs to be completed and notarized at the town office. We must have a completed and notarized residency form and a copy of the students birth certificate before they start school. If you are unsure if the school already has a copy of your child's birth certificate or you need a new kindergarten registration packet, please call the school or email Amy Perkins at aperkins@svrsu.org.

We are resending the child care survey because we heard from several people that it would be helpful to know the anticipated costs in order to respond. Through a partnership with RSU 12, the Boys and Girls Club of Kennebec Valley is exploring options for providing child care in RSU 12 schools in the coming year. The weekly cost is expected to be about $90 during the school year and $125 for a vacation week. In order to inform these plans, please take a moment to complete this survey and let us know if your family is interested in childcare before or after school and on school vacations. The survey will be open until Thursday, July 16. We apologize for having to ask you to complete it again but hope the information about cost is helpful. Thank you! https://forms.gle/N723adspLGCS8FEY8

Please see the following message!
Good Morning,
Since we closed schools on March 13th we have been able to provide breakfasts and lunches to any child, age birth to 18, who wished to receive these deliveries. We have delivered meals on Tuesday and Friday but covered a full week. The response from WHES families was outstanding and the tremendous work done by our school nutrition staff, our bus drivers and many support staff members allowed us to provide over 20,000 meals to families during this challenging time. During this dark period the provision of meals to kids has been a true beacon of goodness and I want to send out my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all those individuals who worked so hard to make our food delivery program such a massive success.
We have now entered summer vacation and our state and nation's challenges still exist. Fortunately, we have received permission to extend our food deliveries to interested families throughout the summer! Our final school-year deliveries were made today (June 26th) and our summer meal program will begin deliveries on Tuesday, July 7th and will continue on each Tuesday and Thursday until Friday, August 21st. If you are already on our list, great! If not, please contact either Vicki Dill (vdill@svrus.org) or Meagan Soule (msoule@svrsu.org) and they'll add your children onto the delivery list. During the summer we will only be using two buses. If your meals have been being delivered by either Mr. Bronn or Mr. Cote's bus, your meals will arrive at the usual time you've been receiving them. If you have been receiving deliveries from either Mr.Brann or Mr. Webb's bus, the meals will be arriving at your door approximately one (1) hour later than usual. If you have any questions, please reach out to Vicki or Meagan or feel free to contact me here at the school.
Here's to a great summer!
