Up coming important dates to remember:
5/22- Grades 5,6,7 and 8 placing flags on veterans's graves in Augusta. American Legion will provide a pizza lunch. If pizza is not wanted/ can't be eaten, a lunch from home must be provided. Please be sure to have permission slips turned in.
5/23- 6th grade Touch of High School at Erskine academy. Look for permission slips to be coming home.
5/24- ( rain date of 5/31) Day of Caring. Please make sure to send in permission slips
5/24 -Portland Sea Dogs trip for those who signed up and paid.
5/23- Jump-a-thon open gym 2:30p-4:30p ( only eligible students who participated in the jump-a-thon may attend)
5/31- Jump-a-thon- field trip ( only eligible students who participated in the jump-a-thon may attend)
6/4 Band/ Chorus concert at 1:30pm. Parents and community members are welcome to attend.
6/6-6/7- 8th grade class trip
6/11 ( rain date 6/13) field day. All students should dress appropriately and bring a change of clothing and a towel for the slip and slide.
6/14 End of the year assembly/ awards and parent luncheon. Sign up sheets with times will be going home soon.
6/18- 8th grade promotion night starting at 6pm. Middle school dance to follow.
6/19- Last day of school with an 11:30am dismissal.
Just a reminder that this afternoon Whitefield School will be having a 3 bus run. Please remember that drop off times maybe earlier or later then normal. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school at 549-7691.
On Monday, May 13th, we will be having a 3 bus run both in the morning and afternoon. In the morning, Jim Brann's bus, number 20A, is the only bus that will have a different pick up time. In the afternoon, please be aware that drop off times maybe earlier or later then normal for all busses.

June 14th is the date for our end of the year assembly and Parent/Family Luncheon. More information to come.

Don't forget to order your 2018/2019 school yearbook! Order forms will be going home with students and can be picked up in the front lobby. The cost is $12. Orders must be in by May 17th. A very limited amount of extras will be ordered and will be on a first come/ first sold basis, so pre-order now and secure your copy.

There will be no pre-k program on June 6th and 7th.

Community calendars are now available. They are available for purchase at the Whitefield School, Sheepscot General and at the Whitefield Superette for $7. Money raised from the purchase of the calendar will go to the 8th grade class trip.

The 2019/2020 school calendar. The first day of school next year will be August 28th and it is an early release day with a dismissal time of 1:30pm.

Yearbook order forms are here. They will be coming home with your child this week and can also be picked up at the school front office.

Third graders worked hard on their Water Cycle in Bag this afternoon.

We are still looking for teams for our 3v3 basketball tournament being held at Whitefield School on Friday , April 5th. Ms. Mccormick needs registrations in hand by tonight. Registrations can be emailed to her at kmccormick@svrsu.org.
The entrance fee $5 per person and is open to kids in grades 3-12. Teams are made up of 3-4 players, but if you don't have a team, you can still sign up. You will be assigned a team when you get here.
This tournament is being sponsored by our National Junior Honor Society to benefit the Whitefield Athletic Association.

Whitefield Athletic Association t-ball, baseball and softball sign-ups will be on Thursday April 4th 5pm-6pm and Saturday April 6th 8am-9am.

April 9th is opening day at Fenway Park. Dennis Cullenberg was very passionate about the "home team". In remembrance of Mr. Cullenberg we are having a Hat Day Fundraiser for 5th grade. Pay $1.00 to wear a hat all day at school. We encourage everyone to wear Red Sox apparel ( or just baseball gear in general)

Parents of students attending Kieve this week are invited there for a slideshow and lunch on Friday starting at 10:45 am.

Spring pictures will be on April 11th. Only students who have prepaid online orders or bring money in on or before the 11th will have their pictures done. Order forms will be going home with students next week.

Gifted and Talented Notice*
Spring referrals for the Gifted and Talented Program are being accepted from Friday March 29th to Friday April 12th. If you feel your child excels or has the potential to excel beyond his/her age level peers in academics or art/music (VPA) you can make a referral for the Gifted and Talented Program. A referral can be made by a teacher, staff member or parent. We do recommend, however, you consult with your child's teacher before making a referral. Please contact Hollie Hilton, the Gifted and talented Coordinator, at hhilton@svrsu.og for a referral form for either academics or visual art/music (VPA).
Just a reminder that our first Spirit Wear order will be going out on 3/27/19. If you want to place an order this month, please send in your order and money in to school by Wednesday morning. Checks should be made out to Whitefield School.
Reminder tonight is the FUNDRAISER DINNER: 8th grade is hosting a Benefit Pizza and Pasta Buffet Dinner at Aunt Gin’s on March 26th from 4:30-7:30. Price: $10 per adult - $5 per child (up to grade 8) - $30 per family (included in price is pizza, pasta, and soft drinks ** alcoholic beverages must be purchased separately**) ALL proceeds will be donated to Whitefield Elementary School’s class of 2019.
