RSU 12 is excited to announce that one of our teachers, Kristel Anuszewski, Windsor Learning Commons teacher, has been named the Kennebec County Teacher of the Year! Maine County Teachers of the Year serve as ambassadors for teachers, students, and schools throughout their year of service. In addition, they are eligible to be considered for Maine Teacher of the Year. Congratulations, Kristel! RSU 12 is so proud of you!

Our mystery guest chef on Thursday had a great time serving our kiddos! We served up taco casserole with retired bus driver, Jim Brann! It was great seeing him again and the kids liked seeing his familiar face! Thanks for joining us Mr Brann!

Whitefield School will be doing a five-week after-school Robotics & Coding Club after the break beginning on Tuesday, February 27th until March 26th from 2:30-3:30. This is for grades 3-8. This message is for Whitefield students, families, and staff. We have an unfortunate situation at Whitefield School where the boiler is not working due to a broken part. Repairs will be done as fast as possible, but not fast enough for there to be school tomorrow. We are hoping repairs will be completed tomorrow in order to have school on Friday. So, there will be no school at Whitefield Elementary tomorrow, Thursday, February 8th. Thank you for your patience. We will send out an alert tomorrow with an update on the situation. Due to the icy conditions this morning, all RSU 12 schools will have a two-hour delay today, Thursday, January 25th.
Due to the weather forecast for this afternoon, all RSU 12 after-school activities and athletics after 4 pm are canceled today.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Whitefield School will be conducting a three bus run in the afternoons for the remainder of this week, January 24th through the 26th. Drop off times may vary slightly, being either a little earlier or later than usual. If this causes an issue, we encourage you to pick up your students at the end of the school day if possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Again, the three bus runs are for the afternoon runs only.
At the January 2024 board meeting, the RSU 12 Board of Directors voted to amend this year's school calendar due to the unexpected amount of storm/emergency days we have had so far. There are two calendar amendments. March 15th will be a full student day. April 12th will be a student day with early dismissal at 11:30 am.
