RSU 12 schools are closed today, December 17th, due to the predicted snowstorm.

If we end up having a snow day on Thursday, then Friday will be dress like a snowman, in candy can colors or fancy dress day. Students can pick one if they want to participate. Don't forget that 12/22 is festive sweater or ugly sweater day!

Winter Break Spirit Week Next Week!
Let's have a little fun the last full week of school before vacation. Students and staff have all been working hard and we think they all deserve to have a little fun! Remote learners are also encouraged to participate, just send a picture to aperkins@svrsu.org and it will be shared with your class.
This is not for points or prizes, it is for fun.
( we ask that you remember to follow the dress code and not wear anything inappropriate for school)

Picture Retakes will be on Monday, December 7th.

RE: Device & Materials Pick Up Tomorrow
In order to have the remote period we are now in be successful, students must have the proper materials and an internet connected device. The school will have staff volunteers available tomorrow morning from 8:00 - 11:00 am to assist students in picking up their device (laptop, ChromeBook or iPad) and personal materials that are here at school. Students only will be allowed to come into the school after staff conducts the standard medical screening and will leave immediately after acquiring their materials. If families are unable to make it in tomorrow, you may contact the school on Wednesday and arrangements will be made for a pick up time. Please remember that if you do not have internet connectivity in your home then there is no reason to pick up your child's device as it will not function. Also, if you have devices at home already, do not bring home a school device. While we have been fortunate to have added a significant number of devices for children here this year, transporting to and from school increases the possibility of a device being damaged and, should that occur, your child would not have a device available here at school. All school devices must be returned to school when we return from the remote period on November 30th.
During the closure period, beginning today, November 16th, with students returning to school on November 30th, teaching staff will be in touch with students to direct their remote experience. This may be via email, Zoom or phone calls. All WHES staff, except staff who are required to quarantine, will be back in the building on Wednesday, November 18th, and can be reached by email or phone if students or parents have questions.
Please feel free to contact the school if you have questions. Stay safe and we look forward to having our great WHES students back in-person shortly.
