Whitefield School Garden Club is looking for some help. They are looking for a donation of a used garden hose reel. It does not have to be in new condition. It will be used for the irrigation system.
Unfortunately there has been a change in our plans. We will not be hosting a Covid clinic at this time, we do hope to be able to at some point. We are still hosting a Flu clinic, you should see the paperwork for that this week. If you have adult family members that would like to take advantage of the clinic please contact Ms. Kendra at the school to get the appropriate paperwork. If you need additional student forms you can again contact Ms. Kendra.
Thank you,
Kendra
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be having a 3 bus run tomorrow afternoon. Students who ride Jim Brann's bus will be split up and riding on the other buses. This will affect everyone's bus run. Some students will be dropped off sooner and some later. Please contact the school if you need a specific time. If you are available to pick up your student at the end of the day, that would be very helpful. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Please see the following message from Nurse Kendra.

September's breakfast and lunch menu

Please be aware that we are going back to having parents/ guardians sign students in when tardy and sign out when being picked up from school.
8:01am and on is considered tardy.
We no longer use the text number to communicate for pick ups.
Dismissal is at 2:20 every day except Wednesdays, which is at 1:30pm. If you are picking your child up please come 5-10 minutes earlier so that you have time to sign them out before dismissal. You will need to come to the lobby to sign the sign out sheet and then return outside and wait for your child.
Masks are required when entering the school.
Tomorrow's menu is as follows:
Breakfast is Cereal, Apple and milk
Lunch is Ham and Cheese Sandwich on a Whole Grain Bun, Carrot Sticks with Dip, Pear and Milk

One of the biggest stressors for the front office the first few days of school is the afternoon bus runs. If your child's normal after school destination is somewhere other than home, please send in a one time note with your child on the first day of school or email aperkins@svrsu before school starts. I need to know where your child is going and if it is not everyday then what the scheduled days are. Please also include contact information for the person/ place your child will be going to after school. I need this information even if your child's daycare is the same as last year. For the occasional alternate drop off, like going to a friend's house or if you have an unpredictable schedule, bus notes can be sent in with your child or you can call the office before 2pm that day at 549-5251.
If we do not receive any form of communication about alternate drop off locations your child will take the bus home. Students in grades pre-k through 5th will not be let off the bus without an adult present unless otherwise communicated by a parent or legal guardian. If there has been no communication, no adult is present and we are unable to reach you, then the student will be brought back to school and will need to be picked up here.
A reminder that the main entrance is where students who are not riding the bus will be dropped off and and picked up. You now will need to come into the school and sign your child out like we did pre-covid. We will NO LONGER be using the text number that we had last year for picking up your child. You have to sign them out. Once you have signed your student out, we ask that you go back outside and wait for dismissal. The lobby is not large enough to allow you to wait and properly social distance. Due to the large volume of self transported students, we ask that you come before 2:20pm to sign your child out. Dismissal is at 2:20pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday dismissal is at 1:30pm.
If your child is tardy, you will need to come into the school and sign your child in.
Please remember that a mask needs to be worn at all times when entering the school.
We will be holding a Back to School Open House on Monday, August 30th from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Masks are required for everyone entering the building. Come and meet the staff and see the school.

Custodial staff is looking for donations of new or used tennis balls. They are used on table and chair legs to prevent the floors from being scratched up. If you have any or know someone who does, please call the school at 549-5251 or drop off to Miss Amy in the main office.
