This a reminder that if you are a resident of RSU 12, then the RSU 12 District Budget meeting will take place this Wednesday, May 24th, at 6:30 pm in the Chelsea Elementary School gym. Residents will learn about the school district budget and vote whether or not to approve the budget proposed by the RSU 12 School Board. Please attend this important meeting.
WHES Brings Back Celebration of Learning
The COVID-19 pandemic postponed a great many positive activities that schools offered to parents and the community. Celebration of Learning is coming back and will be held tonight, May 17th from 5:30-6:30 P.M. This event offers parents a chance to visit the school with their child/children and see evidence of student work in all areas of the school. Parents are welcome to visit any and all classrooms to take in what our learners have been working on recently. In many cases, learners will be on hand to answer questions about their work, and certainly, staff can assist you as well. Take the opportunity to visit the newly expanded WHES Gardening Area including the new shed and the recently added new greenhouse. The gardening area is located behind the gym side of the school and is fast becoming a renowned element of our school.

Dear WHES Parents:
As you may be aware, Mary Moulton, WHES Custodian, and her husband suffered a tremendous loss with a devastating fire to their home here in Whitefield. As the news story of the fire reported, they pretty much got out of their house with the "clothes on their backs." The staff here at WHES has begun a collection to assist Mary to get back on her feet. Mary is an extremely hard worker and has established a great connection both with students and staff at this school and we know that she'd do whatever she could to assist someone else in a similar circumstance. Our collection will be active until the end of this week. If you would like to contribute to this "Let's Help Mary" fund, please feel free to drop off or send in cash or checks to the WHES Office. Checks should be made out directly to Mary Moulton with a notation of "Let's Help Mary" on the check.

Welcome Parents and Community Members - the Scholastic Book Fair is arriving Thursday, April 6th in the Learning Commons Room. It will be open to students during the day from April 7 thru 14th. We will also be open to the public during Parent-Teacher Conferences on April 12th from 3 - 7 pm and April 13th from 3 - 6:30 pm. You can also order online at our Scholastic Home Page. Spring School pictures will be on Wednesday, April 5th. Order forms will be going home this week or you may order on line.
Anyone who missed the 8th grade promotion picture day this week will have their pictures done on 4/5.
Menu update rom the kitchen:
The lunch menu for Wednesday 3/29 and Thursday 3/30 will be swapped due to a delivery error. Please be aware that Wednesday will now be a hot ham and cheese and Thursday will be the chicken caesar salad.
Around 9:30am there was an accidental call made to 911 from a cell phone at Whitefield Elementary School. Local law enforcement officers and school staff investigated and found there to be no emergencies. All students and staff are safe. It is important to remind your students to turn off phones and leave in their lockers. or book bags while at school.
A message to 8th grade parents from Mr. Deblois.
Good Afternoon:
On Monday, March 27th, all 8th grade students will be having their pictures taken for their 8th Grade Celebration portfolio. The portfolio is presented during the 8th Grade Celebration at the close of the school year. It includes a certificate of promotion as well as this updated picture of the individual child. I send this message along because this portfolio becomes a lasting memento for families and, hopefully, the clothing they choose represents what you'd want to commemorate this important event.. With that said, I will not be the judge of what is appropriate or what isn't appropriate for this photo. If you're happy with the outfit they select, or if they wear a hat for the picture, that is for you to decide. My note today is to remind you that these pictures are being taken on Monday and to have you discuss your expectations with your 8th grader.
