All schools in RSU 12 will have a two hour delay today, Thursday, December 5th.

HI Everyone,
We will be running with two buses tomorrow. As before, Blake will have most of his route and all of Roy's route. Carroll will pick up all of the kiddos on Parmenter Road. Your kids may be picked up earlier or later than normal. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you!

RSU 12's very own Mr. Howard Tuttle was named Maine Superintendent of the Year! He was quick to attribute the district's successes to the hard work of RSU 12 staff, the school board, and the RSU 12 community; but we know that it took his leadership and example to make it all happen. Congratulations, Mr. Tuttle! We're lucky to have you!

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to remind everyone that Picture Retakes are Monday. If your kiddo did not have pictures, they will be taken this day. If you would like to have your kiddo's pictures retaken, please return the original package and they will be done this day.
Thanks and have a great weekend!!

The 2024-2025 RSU 12 School Budget has been approved by the voters of RSU 12. We are grateful that all RSU 12 towns have approved the school budget. We cannot thank you enough for your investment in RSU 12 students' education and future. Your commitment to RSU 12 reaffirms our mission, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing community backing us. Thank you for your unwavering support for education.

Reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11th, there is a referendum on the proposed RSU 12 school district budget. Please remember to vote at your local polling stations.

This is a reminder that if you are a resident of RSU 12, the RSU 12 District Budget meeting will take place this Wednesday, May 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. in the Chelsea Elementary School gym. Residents will learn about the school district budget and vote on whether or not to approve the budget, which has been unanimously endorsed and proposed by the RSU 12 Board of Directors. Please attend this important meeting. The budget approved on May 22nd will go to referendum in all towns for a final vote on June 11th.

Dear Parents/ Guardians,
It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of our cherished staff members, Gail Horak. She passed away on Thursday, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and a profound impact on our school community.
Gail served as our school cook at Palermo Consolidated school for 22 years, where she was not only a valued colleague but also a mentor and friend to many. She loved working and her commitment to the well-being of our students was unwavering. Gail will be deeply missed by everyone.
We understand that this news may be difficult for students and parents alike. To support our community during this time, we will have counselors available next week for students who need to talk or process their feelings. If you feel your child needs additional support, please do not hesitate to reach out.
We plan to honor Gail’s memory in the coming weeks and will share details of these plans once they are finalized. In the meantime, we encourage you to talk with your children about their feelings and to reach out if you need any assistance or resources.
Our deepest condolences go out to Gail’s family and loved ones. Please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate this loss together.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Oliphant, Principal
Palermo Consolidated School

WE DID IT! KHC ‘24 I’m so excited to say that we met the Kid’s Heart Challenge this year thanks to the help of many of our families. We had 17 students and 1 staff member raise a total of $2042! That’s so AWESOME!!! We also had 54 students register online and 5 students register on paper for a total of 59 registrations. Our goal was to have 50% of the student body register online, and we also met that goal! WOO HOO!!! We couldn’t have done it without the help of each and every parent or family member who took the time to register and/or fundraise. You guys ROCK! The lucky winners of our drawing on 3/25 from the 59 students who were registered were as follows: Liam Carver-JBL flip 3 bluetooth speaker Jeffrey Plummer-Wilson indoor/outdoor basketball Cassie Carver-Rocket stomp launcher Our top 5 fundraisers were as follows: Harper Chubbuck- $413.19 Ella Murphy- $358.55 Sawyer Cotter-Hayes- $252.10 Logan Lachcik- $216.35 Shayne Lachcik- $200.91 We had 1 student complete Finn’s Mission online by completing all 7 challenges of Finn’s Mission, which will give him one entry into the nation-wide sweepstakes for 2 tickets to Super Bowl 2025. Good luck to Sawyer Cotter-Hayes in that drawing. Winners will be notified on July 17, 2024. Our school has now qualified for the $500 certificate from U.S. Games for P.E. equipment. I will be using it to purchase new Wilson basketballs in sizes 5, 6, & 7 (skewed more heavily to the smaller sizes, which we don’t currently have). Thank you again for another successful fundraising year for the American Heart Association and for our school! Mrs. Sturgis P.E. Teacher
