We are participating Fresh Fruit and Veggie Program (FFVP)
This program provides a free snack of fruit or veggie to ALL students and staff twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Today's snack was Yogurt Pumpkin dip with apple slices. It was absolutely delicious!
Boy's middle school basketball tryout/ practice will be held on Thursday, November 7th, 2:30pm-3:30pm.

Tomorrow is picture retake day. If you ordered a picture package and want the photos retaken, you must turn in the unwanted package.
Due to the late start, the flu shot clinic at Whitefield School that was scheduled for today is cancelled. It has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 5th starting at 12:30pm. Please call the school if you have any questions.

Don't forget Flu clinic sign up forms are due tomorrow (October 31st). If you plan on having your child vaccinated against the flu we are holding a flu clinic at Whitefield School Friday, November 1st from 9-1100. We hope to get as many students vaccinated as possible!

Whitefield School's Second Annual Staff Pumpkin Decorating Contest starts tomorrow afternoon. If you are at the school, don't forget to check them out and place your vote! Voting will be from Monday afternoon until noon time on 10/31/19.
Mark your calendars for November 1, 2019! Whitefield Elementary School will be hosting a flu shot clinic in partnership with Lincoln Medical. This clinic will be for students, family members, and any community member as long as the paperwork is filled out and turned in to the school by October 31, 2019. Please check backpacks for the information and stop into the school for extra sign up sheets!!

This week is National School Bus Safety Week. Don't forget to thank your bus drivers for getting you to and from school safely everyday.
Congratulations to Donovan Thompson for winning first place in the Peace Poster Contest for Whitefield School. Donovan's poster will now go on to compete in a district level.
Oryanna Winchenbach got second place.
Kathryn Shaw got third place.
All three students will have a spaghetti dinner and recognition night at the Lion's Club.

RSU 12 staff spent the day Friday learning together. There were opportunities to learn about complex reasoning skills and how to teach these to students. There were also opportunities to practice strategies to address challenging student behavior and to build a sense of community in the classroom. We look forward to applying our new learning in the classroom!

Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday, October 11th and Monday, October 14th.
We are going to celebrate Bullying Prevention Day on Monday October 7th by wearing BLUE. We hope to see our whole school, both students and staff wearing blue on Monday.
Mrs. Richards literacy block kids used the maker space room to create a Coelophysis (ask your child to pronounce it) to go along with our book Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Dinosaur Bones.
Whitefield PTA will be holding their annual pumpkin sale today and tomorrow, Friday, October 4th from 2:30pm- 4:30pm. They will also be on sale next week. Dates and times to be determined. These pumpkins were planted by our students at the Marple Farm during Day of Caring last spring.
