The Maine CDC Health Advisory System Update designated Kennebec County as “Yellow” yesterday. However, RSU 12 will continue to provide in-person learning five days a week for the time being and we will monitor the case rates in Kennebec County. RSU 12 will not initiate a split cohort A/B hybrid learning approach at this time. We look forward to seeing all students return to school this Monday, April 26th. Due to Parent Teacher Conferences Tuesday and Thursday, and a workshop day on Friday, there will not be Camp Chelsea the rest of this week. If you still need to schedule conferences with your child's teacher please contact their teacher to set up a time!

Gifted & Talented Spring 2021 Referral Window Open: Monday, March 1, 2021 Closes: Monday, March 22, 2021

Next Tuesday, March 9th, will be a remote learning day at Chelsea Elementary due to voting in the building. Boys and Girls Club will be available for those that attend it during the day.

Gifted and Talented Notice Spring referrals for the Gifted and Talented Program are being accepted from March 1st to March 22nd. Please note that the window closes on March 22nd. If you feel your child excels or has the potential to excel beyond his/her age level peers in academics or art/music (VPA) you can make a referral for the Gifted and Talented Program. A referral can be made by a teacher, staff member, or parent. We do recommend, however, you consult with your child's teacher before making a referral. Please contact Hollie Hilton, the GT Coordinator, at hhilton@svrsu.og for a referral form for either academics or visual art/music (VPA).

Monday February 22: No after school activities today due to incoming snow, There is still Boys and Girls Club, but no Camp Chelsea.

All RSU 12 after school activities are cancelled this afternoon due to the predicted snow. Community Learning Center is also cancelled.

Due to the snowstorm tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16th, food deliveries for Whitefield will take place on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Chelsea food will be delivered Thursday. There is no Community Learning Center tomorrow. Thank you.

We are delivering food during vacation week on Tuesday and Friday mornings (2/16 and 2/19). If you would like to have meals delivered for your children, please fill out the following quick questions. The Maine Broadband Coalition has launched a statewide internet speed test mapping initiative. The goal of the “Get Up To Speed” initiative is to gather data from across the state to generate the most comprehensive map of both the presence and quality of internet in Maine to date. Residents are being asked to help the initiative by taking this less-than-a-minute test to map their own speed through the Maine Broadband Coalition’s website. The Maine Broadband Coalition will aggregate, document, and visualize the speed testing information to provide users and state officials with up-to-date service maps.
