As you may know, Governor Mills ended Maine's State of Civil Emergency on June 30. As of this date, masks are no longer required in schools, and RSU 12 will not require them for students participating in summer programming. Masks continue to be recommended for those who have not been vaccinated. Anyone who chooses to wear a mask may do so. In addition, RSU 12 will continue to encourage social distancing wherever possible. We hope everyone has a safe and healthy summer!

Monday, May 10, we had a student helping out with lunch after writing an argumentative essay as part of a class assignment requesting chocolate milk as an option for lunches.
He shared his work with our Director of Student Nutrition Services and was then invited to help design a lunch around chocolate milk. Working together they created a meal using local products and our student got to come down to help see how lunch was made and to help prepare lunches for the school!
Lunch included the following:
Chocolate Milk - Oakhurst Dairy - Maine Dairy Council also provided lesson materials for students
Baked Chicken - Common Wealthy Poultry - generous donation
Wild Maine Blueberries - Machias, Maine
