At the January 2024 board meeting, the RSU 12 Board of Directors voted to amend this year's school calendar due to the unexpected amount of storm/emergency days we have had so far. There are two calendar amendments. March 15th will be a full student day. April 12th will be a student day with early dismissal at 11:30 am. Due to storm damage and power outages, we will have a two-hour delay tomorrow morning, December 19th. This delay will allow time for cleanup and assessment of the situation. Depending on the assessment, we may need to cancel school for the whole day tomorrow. Another communication will be sent out tomorrow morning at around 7 am with an update on whether or not school will be canceled for the day.

I extend my sincerest gratitude for your patience and resilience as we come together to reinstate a sense of normalcy in our educational routines for the well-being of our students. Your understanding during this unsettling time has been invaluable. The safety of our students and staff remains our foremost priority. I encourage you to reassure your children that they are safe in school and that operations will proceed as usual. We have decided to close school again tomorrow, October 27th. Our foremost concern remains the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families. The decision to extend the school closure is a difficult one, made with careful consideration of the current circumstances. Our intention is to resume regular school activities on Monday.
