Grade 5 is sponsoring a special Hat Day fundraiser in recognition of the Red Sox Opening Day at Fenway Park. This will be on Tuesday, April 9th, and we encourage everyone to wear a hat ( $1.00 donation) and baseball apparel- any team is fine! We are celebrating this day in memory of Mr. Cullenberg, who was a passionate fan of the "home team"
Don't forget we will be placing a Spirit Wear order on 3/27/19.

8th grade Movie/Game Night - Friday, March 22 from 2:30-4:15 for grades K-5 - Cost is $5. The movie is Garfield the Movie.

FUNDRAISER DINNER: 8th grade is hosting a Benefit Pizza and Pasta Buffet Dinner at Aunt Gin’s on March 26th from 4:30-7:30. Price: $10 per adult - $5 per child (up to grade 8) - $30 per family (included in price is pizza, pasta, and soft drinks ** alcoholic beverages must be purchased separately**)
ALL proceeds will be donated to Whitefield Elementary School’s class of 2019.
To encourage students to drink more water and reduce our use of plastic, we recently added a water bottle filling station in our “gymacafetorium.”
This was possible thanks to a grant from LincolnHealth and their Let’s Go program.
“Drinking water is linked to a number of health benefits. Water can improve kids’ readiness to learn and is the best first choice for hydration before, during, and after most exercise routines. We were happy to help Whitefield School create a healthier environment for students and teachers,” commented Kristina Verney, LincolnHealth’s Let’s Go Coordinator.
We are now accepting Pre-K applications for the 2019/2020 School year. Please call the school or stop by for an application.

This year Windsor PAWS PTO is having a Spaghetti Dinner with Raffles Fundraiser on Saturday, March 9th. We have over 100 raffle items donated and are very excited for the community support that we have received so far for this event. Kids and parents alike love raffles......and it only takes 1 ticket to WIN! Funds raised will be used to support Windsor PAWS PTO.
Whitefield Elementary School will be accepting applications for our Pre-K program starting March 1st.
Applications can be picked up at the front office.
The girl's and boy's varsity basketball teams had their first play-off games on Saturday at Erskine Academy. The boys played hard but lost to Palermo. They should be very proud of their accomplishments this season.
The girls played against Palermo and won. They move on to semi-finals tonight. Come out and cheer on our girls as they play against China at 7:25pm, tonight at Erskine. GO WILDCATS!
Girl Scout Troop 532 has chosen to support the Mid Coast Animal Shelter for their winter community service project. Their goal is to collect as many items as possible to help our furry friends. A donation box has been placed in the Whitefield School lobby. It will be there until 2/15/19. Most needed items include canned canned cat/dog food, dye-free dry cat/dog food, unscented cat litter, collars, leashes and treats. Other helpful items include blankets, towels, toys and gift cards.

Due to the closing of school today, there will be no JV Girl's basketball game this afternoon.
Varsity and JV basketball teams will have make up games against Windsor tomorrow, January 23rd.
Girl's Varsity and JV will play at Windsor starting at 4pm with varsity playing first.
Boy's Varsity and JV will play at home starting at 4pm with varsity playing first.

Due to a minor incident, Mr. Webb's bus 19 will be late picking students up. There will be a bus going out around 7:50am to pick up students who ride Mr. Webb's bus. Lincoln Academy will be holding an Eighth Grade Informational night for students who want to explore the option of attending LA next year as a freshman. It will be held on January 23rd, from 6:30-7:30pm in the Alumni Dining Commons.
There will be a Celebration of Life/ Remembrance for Mr. Cullenberg at the Whitefield School Library on January 10th, 5:30pm-7:00pm.
Ms. Northrup's 3rd grade class had a fun morning watching the movie Annabelle's Wish. And now they want to wish everyone Happy Holidays!
Pre-K made wreaths earlier this week. We had so much fun!
Just a reminder the winter concert is today at 5:30pm for grades K through 3rd and 6:30pm for grades 4 and 5. Grades 6 through 8 band and chorus will also be at 6:30pm.
