WINDSOR STUDENT COUNCIL

Windsor Food Bank

The Windsor Food Bank brought to the attention of the Student Council that summer months are a critical time at the Food Bank. Many children are home during the summer vacation without the benefit of the school lunch program providing them with a meal every day. In addition to the regularly needed food items, like canned vegetables, the Food Bank could really use foods that older children could fix for themselves over the summer.

Suggestions include:

  • canned soups, tuna fish, canned chicken,

  • peanut butter, Fluff, jelly, Spaghettios, Beefaroni, Canned

  • Ravioli, boxed mac & cheese, boxed spaghetti dinners,

  • Manwich/Sloppy Joe sauce, canned fruit, Ramen noodles, Cup

  • a Soup, boxed cereal, cereal or granola bars, juice boxes,

  • pancake mix, etc.

Student Council members will be collecting food items every morning during homeroom. The class that brings in the most items by June 12th will win an ice cream party.
