At the November school board meeting, an update on our progress towards proficiency-based learning was made. See the attached presentation. Staff have done a tremendous amount of work learning how to use a new reporting tool and adjusting instructional practice to inform students of learning targets and give them feedback about their progress towards meeting those targets.
Attached is a presentation made to the RSU #12 School Board on September 11, 2014 about our district's work moving towards a proficiency-based learning system. See the attachment for a description of proficiency-based learning, our process for defining our district standards, and the tool we are using to record student progress and provide feedback.
